The Clean Lincoln Everywhere and Now (CLEAN) team are opening a new cleaning hub to get the people involved in cleaning up their local area.

Clean hubs include all the necessary equipment to perform a litter pick such as: high viability vests, litter picker sticks, information packs and waste bags.

CLEAN Chairman Ryan Lovett says that he wants to make litter picking more accessible to everyone.

Stating that not everyone is able to attend events that are set up by local litter groups but may still want to get involved in their own way.

Ryan said: “The number one reason why clean is setting up these clean hubs is to make it more accessible for everyone.

“We are trying to encourage individuals to go out and do it for themselves."

The first hub is set up at One NK sports complex in North Hykeham and is available for the public

to use.

A second hub will be placed in Lincoln City’s football stadium on March 23.

South Common Litter Picking Crew Chairman and CLEAN Secretary Kevin Elliott, said: “You’d be amazed how much litter there is.

“People just do not realise how much damage they can do from just leaving things laying around.

“We have collected about 80 plus bags of rubbish for one year just from south common.”

There will be a litter pick event taking place on March 23 in collaboration with Sincil bank and river care group who will use the equipment from the hub.

Clean hubs allow people to loan equipment out, so that they can safely perform litter picks anywhere at any time for free.

You can contact Clean Lincoln Everywhere and Now on Facebook where you will receive a code to unlock the hub.

Once you have contacted CLEAN you also receive information packs and other information needed to perform a safe litter pick.
